Welcome to Black & Brown, Indigenous, Immigrant Farmers United (BIFU)!
At BIFU, we are rooted in our communities and committed to building and reclaiming just, equitable, sustainable, and sovereign food systems across the state of New Jersey. Our work is grounded in the principles of solidarity, empowerment, and collective action.
As part of our commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive community, we have established a set of community agreements that guide our interactions and ensure that all members feel valued, respected, and heard. These agreements reflect our shared values and aspirations and serve as a foundation for our collective work.

Meet people where they are.
Center our unique identity and role in our communities, we as BIPOC folks have a unique experience.
Center history, culture, and continued education.
Respect pronouns and identity without folks having to explain.
Do our best to speak the truth and hold each other accountable even if it's uncomfortable.
Respect everyone’s communication and learning style.
Do our best not to reflect current power structures but subvert them within our spaces.
Utilize communication that is up-lifting.
Ensure this is a liberated space for everyone’s ideas, questions, collaborations, and creations.
Showing up within our capacity via email, text, virtually, and communicating honestly.
