Our mission for BIFU NJ is to cultivate a network of Black, Brown, Indigenous farmers, Earth workers, and Activists who are dedicated to uplifting and empowering one another in a thriving food ecosystem in NJ. Our goal it to protect the legacy and ensure the future of Black farmers through land ownership, land stewardship, program activation, green careers, and health and wellness.
We are dedicated to our vision of building a beautiful network of cherished individuals and organizations who identify as and/or are dedicated towards centering the lives of Black, Brown, Indigenous people across all intersectional identities.
We are here to ADVOCATE for our Queer, Trans, and Two-Spirit siblings, Elders, generations to come, and our differently abled community members alike who are often ostracized and left on the sidelines.
Additionally, we are dedicated to decolonizing the current ideas people have around Blackness, Brownness, Indigeneity, and immigrant identified individuals emphasizing that “POC'' or “People of Color” are Indigenous. We are adamant about moving towards collectivism in the fight for freedom and communal sovereignty.
